Q. Can I bring my child with me to class?

If your child is under the age of 18, but older than 10, yes you may bring your child given the understanding that they are to be signed for on a waiver by a parent or legal guardian over the age of 18. Please keep in mind that for Zumba, Piloxing, MixxedFit and our bootcamp classes some moves are geared more towards an adult as they can be suggestive and/or aggressive and aren’t necessarily child friendly.

Sommer Time Fitness is NOT licensed in Zumbini, Zumba Kids or Zumba Kids, Jr. or any other such child friendly fitness programs at this time. Parents are strongly advised to NOT bring toddlers or babies to class as we are focused on medium to high impact moves which could harm your child or other participants if being carried on your person or if they are running around during class. Please note that our facility does offer childcare for an additional fee. Please contact the facility prior to class to facilitate the need for a sitter to be available.

For classes such as Baby & Me, yes children between the ages of 4 weeks to 4 years are strongly encouraged as the workout program is focused around mommy and baby exercise and bonding.

Q. What does it cost to participate in your classes?

We have three options available to pay for classes.
  • Drop-In – 1 Class – $5.00
  • 10 Class Punch Pass $40.00
  • Monthly Unlimited $125.00
Drop-in fees are non-refundable. Punch passes are good for 30 days and are non-refundable and non-transferable.  We accept cash and credit for payments. Please see each class description for additional pricing info.

Q. Is childcare offered?

Yes. Childcare is offered through the facility and is paid separate from that of your class participation fees. The cost of childcare is $5.00 per child. The facility asks that you please call them at (912) 228- 8228 PRIOR to class (M-F 6am to 4pm) if you are looking to make use of the childcare service. For weekend classes, please call the facility on the Friday PRIOR to class so that they can ensure someone is available for childcare.

Q. I bought a Groupon how does this work?

Groupons are good for the following classes (I realize the deal says Zumba classes, my bad!): Zumba, MixxedFit (when offered), Piloxing and Power Stretch, and are valid for 45 days. When you purchase a Groupon, see me before or after a class to redeem it. Simply bring a printed copy of your voucher or your mobile device. I will need to know the voucher number and the expiration date. Once I have provided you the punch cards, please mark your Groupon as “Redeemed” on the Groupon app.

Q. Do I need a mat for class?

ZUMBA (or any of it’s specialties):

No. Zumba is a Latin based dance fitness program. Zumba is not designed to be like a bootcamp class therefore all moves are done standing on your own two feet. If you have been to a  Zumba class that has you getting down on the ground, doing jumping jacks, burpees or weight training (not to be confused with Zumba Toning) it is NOT Zumba.
NOTE: This is not to be confused with Strong by Zumba, which is NOT a dance fitness class and DOES require a mat. Sommer Time Fitness is not a licensed Strong by Zumba Instructor.

PILOXING:

No. Piloxing workouts are a fusion of boxing and standing Pilates principles. The combination of these disciplines as primary exercise components creates a sense of both physical and mental balance.

MIXXEDFIT:

No. MIXXEDFIT® IS A PEOPLE-INSPIRED FITNESS PROGRAM THAT INCORPORATES EXPLOSIVE MOVEMENTS AND BOOTCAMP TONING.Everything about this program can be described as explosive – all of our movements are always big, exaggerated, full-out, and our very best.

We dance to our favorite songs on the radio that we would dance to at a nightclub. Then, we spice things up by adding boot camp-inspired exercises to make your workout more effective and challenging. If you’re plateauing in your traditional dance fitness class, this might be the answer to your prayers.

A traditional MixxedFit® class is 60 minutes in length and will get you to your fitness goals a lot quicker than just dancing alone. Why? Because the secret is in the toning that we incorporate. The best part of it all is that we tone using our own bodies.  No equipment, no dumbbells, and no awkward toning contraptions!

Our choreography is not complex and difficult. Our steps are repetitive and very easy to follow which means that our students can naturally increase their level of intensity during their workouts. We aim to keep our choreography simple. That way, our students can focus on “working out” rather than following dance steps. If you can do things like squats, jumping jacks, and shake that booty, you will have a blast in class!

Bootcamp:

Yes. Butts & Guts is a bootcamp styled class working your entire body using minimal equipment with a primary focus on your midsection and your legs and butt. At times we may ask you to bring additional equipment with you IF YOU HAVE IT. If not, it will be provided for your use. This class is typically 30 to 45 mins long.

Power Stretch:

Yes, this is a 30 minute mini yoga session. This class will typically follow Piloxing.

Baby & Me:

Yes. this class will be a bootcamp style class incorporating easy to do, save movements with you and your baby. Some moves may require you to get up and down off the floor so please bring a mat to class.

Q. Do I need to register or sign-up for classes?

For most of our classes, no a pre sign-up or enrollment is not required such as Zumba, MixxedFit, Piloxing, Burlesque Fitness or Power Stretch.

Other classes such as Baby & Me, Bootcamp, 30 Day Fitness Challenge and Personal Training you WILL need to contact me prior to coming to class t ensure there is space for you in the class.
